Rose Heskett

ADVANCE, Mo. -- Rose Annetta Heskett, 94, of Advance passed away Saturday, Sept. 13, 2014, at her home.

She was born Nov. 1, 1919, in Eminence, Missouri, the daughter of the late Robert E. Lee and Ann Etta Copeland Best. On Dec. 6, 1947, she married Joseph Harding "Joe" Heskett in St. Louis.

She lived in Arnold, Missouri, for many years, moved to Zalma, Missouri, in 1976 and later to Advance. She worked at Quick Point Pencil Co. for 35 years. After moving to Zalma, she and her husband owned and operated the Zalma Liquor Store and then Joe's Place in Advance.

Surviving are her husband, of Advance; one son and wife, Michael and Bonnie Heskett of Fenton, Missouri; five daughters and husbands, Pamela Jo and Dennis Pittman of Millersville, Deborah J. Kahl of Cape Girardeau, Vickie G. and Randy Rhodes of Zalma, Brenda Lea Abernathy and Sharon R. Wade, both of Advance; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Other relatives and friends also survive.

She was preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Watkins and Sons Chapel. Interment with be in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
