KELSO -- Funeral mass for Sister Rose Dumey, formerly of Kelso, was held Thursday, Dec. 27, 1990 at Ruma Chapel in Ruma, Ill., with graveside rites held at Ruma Cemetery. She was 84 years old.

She was born Feb. 17, 1906, daughter of Leo and Louisa Enderle Dumey. She was originally from the St. Augustine Parish in Kelso.

She became Sister Amata in the Order of Sisters of the Most Precious Blood at Ruma, Ill on Oct. 20, 1919.

She taught school for 55 years.

She is survived by one sister, Dora Mayfield of St. Louis; and four brothers, Eugene Dumey of Chaffee, Herman Dumey of Piedmont, Frank Dumey of Chaffee and Theon Dumey of Cape Girardeau.

She was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
