PATTON, Mo. -- Rose Devenport, 79, of Chrisman, Ill., died Thursday, Feb. 10, 2005, at Pleasant Meadows Christian Home in Chrisman.
She was born Nov. 27, 1925, at Patton, daughter of the Rev. Jesse Ray and Viola Long Tallent. She and William Devenport Jr. were married Sept. 11, 1945. He died April 26, 1988.
Devenport was a member of First Baptist Church in Fairbury, Ill., its Women's Missionary Group and Fairbury Hospital Auxiliary. She was formerly of Patton.
Survivors include three sons, the Rev. Ronald Devenport of Mill Creek, Ind., William Devenport of Makanda, Ill., Randall Devenport of Mill Springs, Mo.; a daughter, the Rev. Sharon Monroe of Mansfield, Ill.; a brother, Don Tallent of St. Louis; three sisters, Ruth Presnell, Audrey Mungle and Dean Wagner, all of St. Louis; 14 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter and two brothers.
Friends may call at Liley Funeral Home in Patton from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, and after 10 a.m. Monday at Hurricane Fork General Baptist Church near Marble Hill, Mo.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the church, with the Rev. Jimmie Fulbright officiating. Burial will be in Hurricane Fork Cemetery.
