Rose Elizabeth Compas, 92, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, March 18, 2001, at St. Francis Medical Center.
She was born Oct. 12, 1908, in Cape Girardeau, daughter of William and Mary Frielinghaus Knaup. She and Frank John Compas were married April 8, 1940, in Cape Girardeau. He died Oct. 9, 1991.
Compas was a member of the first graduating class of the former St. Mary's High School.
She was a member of St. Mary's Cathedral, St. Ann's Sodality, Daughters of Isabella, St. Mary's Cathedral Ladies, and St. Francis Medical Center Auxiliary.
Survivors include three sons, Robert Compas of Cape Girardeau, David Compas of Indian Hill, Calif., Paul Compas of Omaha, Neb.; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday. Parish prayers will be at 7, followed by the rosary recitation.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Cathedral, with Msgr. Richard Rolwing officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
