ROSCO ERVIN

Roscoe Ervin, 75, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, June 3, 2001, at his home.

He was born Nov. 14, 1925, in Cape Girardeau, son of Roscoe Herbert and Minnie Spears Ervin. He first married Roberta Rippeto Nov. 14, 1942. She died April 30, 1986. He and Naomi Smith were married Aug. 25, 1986, in Cape Girardeau.

Ervin was a route man with Pepsi Cola, and then a route man with Central Foods more than 10 years. He was a member of Scriptural Evangelical Lutheran Church at Egypt Mills, Mo., and life member of VFW Post 3838

He served in the U.S. Navy from January 1942 to January 1946.

Survivors include his wife; four sons, Clarence Ervin of West Palm Beach, Fla., Robert Ervin of Jackson, Mo., Alan and Brian Ervin of Cape Girardeau; three daughters, Carol Hinkle of Imperial, Mo., Susan Schmidt of St. Charles, Mo., Sharon Fornkohl of Cape Girardeau; a stepdaughter, Carolyn Jones of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Hilda Bush of Warsaw, Mo., Delores Henson of Cape Girardeau; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter and a brother.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 4-8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Henry Gieschen officiating. Burial will be in Scriptural Lutheran Cemetery at Egypt ills, with military rites by VFW Post 3838.
