JACKSON, Mo. -- Rosalie Kurre Heitman, 80, of Jackson passed away Sunday, Oct. 21, 2001, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, after suffering from leukemia.
She was born Oct. 12, 1921, at Kurreville, Mo., daughter of G.G. and Leonora Fulbright Kurre. She and Arthur Lynn Heitman were married Jan. 25, 1942, in Alabama.
Rosalie graduated from Jackson High School. She and Arthur resided in Fredericktown, Mo., many years, where she retired in 1983 from Black River Electric Co-Op after 31 years of service. After retiring they moved to Jackson.
She was a member of Emanuel United Church of Christ in Jackson, and was an active member of LLL Class and Friendship Circle.
Loving survivors include her husband; a daughter, Diana Hughes of Jackson; a brother and sister-in-law, E.P. and Leona Kurre of Jackson; two sisters, Norene Chamnes of Dayton, Ohio, Sophia Brandes of Jackson; two sisters-in-law, Valetta Robinson of Patton, Mo., Sally Powell of Jackson; and brother-in-law, Eugene Heitman of St. Louis.
Also surviving are five nieces, Norma Richter Wilkening of Columbia, Mo., Judy Kurre Hudgins of Mount Pleasant, Texas, Dina Kurre Strickert of Cape Girardeau, Gina Kurre Rogers of St. Louis, Kathy Robinson of Patton; four nephews, Gene Richter, Richard Robinson, Bill Heitman and Rhoads Heitman of St. Louis.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Geska Kurre Richter; and four brothers, Freddie, William, Joe, and Roy "Dud" Kurre.
Rosalie was a beloved and devoted wife, mother, sister, and aunt, and will be sadly missed.
Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. The Rev. Sam Roethemeyer will officiate. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park in Cape Girardeau.
