Rosalie Ackman, 87, of Jackson passed away Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2009, at her home near Pocahontas. She was born March 17, 1922, at Neelys Landing, daughter of John and Eliza Craft Cotner. She married James "Jim" Ackman April 30, 1938. He preceded her in death Aug. 26,1989...

Rosalie Ackman, 87, of Jackson passed away Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2009, at her home near Pocahontas.

She was born March 17, 1922, at Neelys Landing, daughter of John and Eliza Craft Cotner. She married James "Jim" Ackman April 30, 1938. He preceded her in death Aug. 26,1989.

Rosalie worked at various businesses in Jackson, including one of her most favored places, Wibs Bar BQ. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church at Fruitland many years.

Loving survivors include two daughters, Rita (Arthur) Edwards of Pocahontas, Ruthe (Jerry) Smith of Flower Mound, Texas; six grandchildren, Dan (Liz) Reisenbichler and Revis (Teresa) Reisenbichler of Pocahontas, Marvin Ates Jr. and Tim (Jennifer) Ates of St. Louis, Bonnie Ates of Tybee Island, Ga., Stacy (Ken) Stoehner of Flower Mound; four stepgrandchildren, Amy Pockrus of Austin, Ark., Stephanie Onderdonk of Kona, Hawaii, Glen Edwards of St. Louis and Sherry Varney of Jackson.

Also a brother, Richard Cotner of Apache Junction, Ariz.; a son-in-law, Bob Onderdonk of Millersville; eight great-grandchildren; seven great-stepgrandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Hassel Onderdonk, on Sept. 26, 2007; three brothers; and two sisters.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with Dr. Barry Winders officiating. Interment will follow in New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery near Pocahontas.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of memorial contributions to Wesley United Methodist Church Building Fund or to Preferred Hospice Care of Dexter, Mo.
