Rosa M. Ulrich, 78, of Whitewater passed away Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2009, at Missouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital in Sullivan.
She was born Sept. 21, 1931, in Commerce, Mo., daughter of John and Stella Bolen Hale. She and Elwood Ulrich were married Oct. 24, 1953, at Morley, Mo.
Rosa worked at the former Ely Walker Garment Factory in Scott City 33 years, retiring in 1979. She was a member of Whitewater United Methodist Church and helped with church dinners. She was also a member of Whitewater Eastern Star Chapter 174.
Loving survivors include her husband; a daughter, Linda Gilles and fiance Greg Peak of Sullivan; two grandchildren, Christy (Horace Jr.) Halbert of Cuba, Mo., Shanna (Bob) Hawn of Salem, Mo.; and four great-grandchildren. Also surviving are Danny Hale of Cape Girardeau and John Hale of Jackson, whom Rosa and Elwood reared from an early age.
She was preceded in death by four brothers and a sister.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson. An Eastern Star service will be held at 6:30.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Don Kuehle officiating, assisted by the Rev. Virgil Bunch. Interment will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
Memorial suggestions are Whitewater United Methodist Chruch, Whitewater Eastern Star or Whitewater Masonic Lodge.
