SEDGEWICKVILLE -- Rosa Sophia Brugger, 83, of Sedgewickville and formerly of Jackson, died Saturday, Dec. 14, 1996 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
Brugger was born Nov. 7, 1913, daughter of Andrew and Thresa Hunt Riehl. She married Fred A. Brugger Feb. 1, 1938. He preceded her in death Aug. 6, 1975.
Survivors include four daughters, Martha Smith of Springfield, Dorothy Layton of Perryville, Mary Ellis of Sedgewickville and ENCS (SW) Margaret J. Brugger of Jacksonville, Fla.; 14 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
A son preceded her in death.
Brugger was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Chuch St. Anns Sodality. She had cooked for Wayside Restaurant in Jackson for more than 20 years and retired in 1983.
Friends may call Monday from 4-8 p.m. at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home in Jackson. Parish prayers will be at 7 p.m.
Funeral service will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church in Jackson. The Rev. Edward Eftink will officiate with burial to follow in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
