CHARLESTON, Mo. -- Roosevelt Williams, 78, of Charleston died Friday, June 9, 2000, at Charleston Manor Nursing Facility.
He was born Oct. 15, 1921, in Marianna, Ark., son of Allen and Maggie Unfrey Williams. He first married Martha Ann Williams in 1953. He later married Fleater Hursey Williams.
Survivors include his wife; nine sons, Lamar Neal, Willie Williams and Curtis Williams of St. Louis, Albert "Guy" Williams and John Williams of El Cino, Calif., Barry Williams of Memphis, Tenn., and Larry Williams, Jimmy Williams and Anthony Hursey of Charleston; four daughters, Lynell Williams, Rosa Quinn, Angelia Gater and Aisha Patton of Charleston; a brother, Thomas Williams of Wyatt; two sisters, Alener Stovall and Mattie Austin of Charleston; and 31 grandchildren.
Friends may call from 1-2 p.m. Wednesday at Bowden Civic Center in Charleston.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the civic center with the Rev. Furman Fordham II officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston.
