Ronald W. Worl, 79, of Scott City passed away Sunday, Nov. 6, 2016, at the Chaffee Nursing Center in Chaffee, Missouri.
He was born May 29, 1937, in Englewood, Colorado, son of Ernest and Cora Smith Worl. He and Anita A. Kendall were married July 19, 1957, in Cortez, Colorado.
Ronald was a gifted athlete while attending Mancos High School in Mancos, Colorado. He received the Colorado State Heisman Trophy for excellent performance in all sports.
Ronald worked for 30 years at the Coors Container Division in Golden, Colorado, as the lead foreman. He served 11 years on the Arvada, Colorado, Fire Department and was also on the Coors Fire Brigade.
Ronald was an accomplished woodworker and made several wonderful pieces. He was a lifetime member of the New Life Gospel Center in Scott City, where he professed his love of the Lord.
Loving survivors include his wife of 59 years, Anita Worl; two sons, Greg Worl and his wife, Melissa, of Scott City and Darrin Worl and his wife, Amy, of Hardin, Kentucky; a daughter, Connie Biondini, and husband, Fred, of Lakewood, Colorado; four grandchildren, Bryce Worl and wife, Tiffany, Christopher Worl, Derik Worl and wife, Malori, and Andrew Worl.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Gerald Worl; a sister, Eletha Brown; and two great-grandchildren, Kameron and Brooklyn Worl.
A memorial service will be at 6 p.m. today at the New Life Gospel Center in Scott City, with the Rev. Jack Owens officiating.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to New Life Gospel Center in Scott City.
