McCLURE, Ill. -- Ronald D. Williams, 75, of McClure died Wednesday, June 4, 2014, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Nov. 7, 1938, in Mount Vernon, Illinois, to John and Betty Winemiller Williams. He married Wilma Farthing in 1959. She passed away in 2007. In 1991 he married Billie Jean Brown. She preceded him in death April 18, 2011.
Ronald proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.
He was a member of Cahokia and McClure American Legion Posts and was a Mason and Shriner. He worked in many St. Louis area factories throughout the years as a welder and worked in the maintenance department at Wonder Bread 20 years.
Ronald was proud of his family and enjoyed spending time with them, especially his grandchildren. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed camping and fishing with Billie Jean and his brother, Mike.
Survivors include a daughter, Martha Firebaugh (Mike Niedeffer) of Mount Vernon; three sons, Alan Williams (Sarah) of Moro, Illinois, Michael Williams (Nora) and Brian Williams of McClure; two sisters, Betty Carroll of Shorewood, Illinois, Judy Cash of Sesser, Illinois; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; a sister, Katherine Phillips; and a brother, Michael Williams.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Crain Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
Graveside military honors will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday at Lindsey Cemetery in McClure.
