Ronald L. "Ronnie" Wiegand, 84, of Jackson, passed away on Aug. 25, 2024. A U.S. Army veteran and cement finisher, he is survived by his family and remembered for his love of gardening and Cardinals baseball.

Ronald L. “Ronnie” Wiegand, 84, of Jackson passed away Sunday, Aug. 25, 2024, at the Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Sept. 8, 1939, in Beatrice, Nebraska, to Noah and Helen Kiesow Wiegand. He honorably served 43 months in the U.S. Army.

Ronnie was a cement finisher for Fronabarger Concrete in Oak Ridge and a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson. He enjoyed vegetable gardening and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan.

Loving survivors include his former wife, Florence Wiegand of Jackson; two daughters, Rhonda (Gregory) Farrow and Robin (Stephen) Masters of Jackson; grandchildren, Lucas (Stephanie) Farrow of St. Joseph, Maegen (Carson) Childers of Fairchild Air Force Base, Washington, and Cole Farrow, Bethan Masters and Owen Masters of Jackson; sister-in-law, Dolores (the late Kenneth) Wiegand of Morris, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Alan and Kenneth Wiegand.

The Rev. Joshua Schmidt will conduct a private graveside service at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson. Military rites will also be rendered.

If considering a memorial contribution, the family suggests St. Paul Lutheran Church or the Missouri Veterans Home Foundation.

Arrangements were coordinated by McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
