Ronald Charles Rueseler, 62, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, Oct. 9, 2005, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Aug. 27, 1943, in Minneapolis, Minn., son of Albert C. and Opal Brantley Rueseler. His early childhood years were spent growing up in Cape Girardeau. After living in and graduating from high school in Bakersfield, Calif., he returned to Cape Girardeau to attend college. He graduated from Southeast Missouri State University in 1965 and married Judy Edwards, from Kennett, Mo., in 1967. She survives.

Rueseler was associated with Pettigrew Insurance Agency in the late 1960s but later purchased the business which became Insurance Associates. More recently and until his death, he was associated with Capital Insurance of Cape Girardeau.

Rueseler had been a member of the Cape Jaycees and a member and past president of the Cape Girardeau Noon Lions Club. For many years he was a soccer coach for the Cape Area Soccer Association and later became a Missouri Certified Soccer Referee. He continued to referee until recently. Rueseler was a member and deacon in the First Presbyterian Church of Cape.

Survivors include one daughter, Whitney Hollis of Manchester, Mo.; one son and daughter-in-law, Ryan C. and Kimberly Rueseler of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Rebecca Rueseler of El Segundo, Calif.; two grandchildren, Grant Hollis of Manchester, Mo. and Alyssa Marie Rueseler of Cape Girardeau.

He was preceded in death by his father, mother and one brother.

A private family burial will be held at Lorimier Cemetery on Wednesday followed by an 11 a.m. memorial service at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Paul Kabo officiating.

Friends may call on the family at the church following the memorial service.
