Ronald Popp, 79, of Cape Girardeau passed away Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2021, at his home in Saxony Village.

Ronald was born Feb. 2, 1941, in Frohna, Missouri, to the late Olaf and Wilma Fidler Popp. He and Mary Hinkle were married Oct. 25, 1969, in Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau.

Ronald grew up on a farm and became a full-time farmer just after eighth grade. After several years, he went to work for Kasten Block and Brick in Jackson, then Stovall Block and Brick in Cape Girardeau, before beginning a 33-year career with Trinity Lutheran School and Church as their custodian.

Loving survivors include his wife of 51 years, Mary; brother, Larry Muench of St. Charles, Missouri; sister, Sandra Kischzzak of St. Louis; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Ronald was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Popp, and his wife, Donna; sister-in-law, Laura Muench; and brother-in-law, Stanly Kischzzak.

A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Sept. 17 at Saxony Village Manor in Cape Girardeau, with the Rev. Douglas Breite officiating.

As per facility requirements, masks must be worn in the facility at all times.

Ronald was buried in Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery on Jan. 16.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to Trinity Lutheran Church.

McCombs Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau is in charge of arrangements.
