Funeral Mass for Ronald Stephen Pobst, 1836 Westridge, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Vincent's Catholic Church. The Rev. Joseph Williams will officiate. Entombment will be in Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 4-9 p.m. today.

Pobst, 54, died Tuesday, March 4, 1997, at his home, following a lingering illness.

He was born April 18, 1942, at Oran, son of Harold Stephen and Berniece B. Gluckhertz Pobst. He and Lisa Byrd were married Dec. 1, 1984, at Fruitland.

Pobst was a conductor with Cotton Belt Railroad 30 years. He was president and co-owner of Hooked on Fishing magazine, was co-owner of Georgia Flooring Outlet; was an agent with Ashland Realty from 1978-90, and had owned and managed rental property.

He was a member of St. Vincent's Church, Elks Lodge 639 and Eagles Aerie 3775, and was vice chairman of United Transportation Union 12 years.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Rodney and Randy Pobst of Cape Girardeau; a daughter, Rhonda Ruch of Cape Girardeau; his parents of Oran; a brother, Terry Pobst of Oran; three sisters, Beverly Grojean of Manchester, Marsha Norman of Cape Girardeau, Gina Caudill of Winchester, Va.; a grandchild; and a stepgrandchild.

He was preceded in death by a son.
