Ronald W. Morris, 71, of Pensacola, Florida, formerly of Cape Girardeau, died Friday, July 11, 2014, at his home.

He was born May 7, 1943, in Cape Girardeau, son of John T. Morris and Nadine Summerlin Morris Giles. He and Jacqueline Sue McLain were married April 12, 1964.

Ron worked with his father, who owned Bingo Bar-B-Q in Cape Girardeau, and then 19 years at Cape Ready Mix and Rose Con in Scott City. Staying in the concrete industry another 15 years, he was plant manager with companies in Salt Lake City, Petersburg, Virginia, and Mobile, Alabama. At the time of his death he was self-employed brokering counterweights for tower cranes.

In addition to his beloved wife of 50 years, he is survived by two children, Rhonda Morris of Pensacola, Jarrod Morris of Mobile; two grandchildren, Brandon Morris and Alison Morris of Mobile; two sisters, Judy Sinn of Scott City, Roseanna Rose of St. Charles, Missouri; and a brother, John Morris Jr. of Chaffee, Missouri.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a nephew, Timothy Sinn.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Aug. 2 at Lutheran Church of the Resurrection in Pensacola.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lutheran Hour Ministries, 660 Mason Ridge Center Drive, St. Louis, MO 63141, or Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, 6305 Blue Angel Parkway, Pensacola, FL 32526, where Ron was a member.

Faith Chapel Funeral Home South, 100 Beverly Parkway, Pensacola, is in charge of arrangements.
