Ronald W. Matthew, 61, of Cape Girardeau and Hayti, Mo., died Sunday, July 29, 2007, at his home in Hayti.

He was born Feb. 20, 1946, in Pawnee, Ill., son of Howard C. and Imogene Tindle Matthew. He and Cynthia Needham were married Nov. 16, 1995, in Caruthersville, Mo. He was of the Presbyterian belief.

Matthew graduated from Michigan State University, and was a fourth generation grocer in Central Illinois and Southeast Missouri.

Survivors include his wife, Cynthia Matthew of Cape Gir-ardeau; parents, Howard C. Matthew and Imogene Matthew of Orland Park, Ill.; a daughter, Elizabeth Stull and husband Doug of Claremont, Calif.; a sister, Carolyn Rafacz and husband Mike of Frankfort, Ill.; two grandchildren, Ryan Matthew Stull and Laura Kay Stull of Claremont; seven nephews and five nieces.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with Dr. Paul Currie officiating. Entombment will be at Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
