Ronald A. Goddard, 78, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2016, at Saint Francis Medical Center.
He was born Sept. 1, 1937, in St. Louis to Norval and Elna Gills Goddard.
He served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps and the Coast Guard.
He was a railroad engineer and had a passion for model trains. Ronald was an avid Harley-Davidson rider, loved fast cars, rose gardening and was a gun collector.
Survivors include two daughters, Susan L. (Matt) Broadhurst of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, and Stacy Meyer of Millersville; two sisters, Judy Ledbetter of Festus, Missouri, and Jane Carole (Terry) Houston of Boone, North Carolina; his best friend, Mike McLaughlin of Cape Girardeau; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Mark Anderson officiating. Burial will be at Oakdale Cemetery in Commerce, Missouri, with military rites conducted by the Missouri Honor Guard.
