SIKESTON -- Funeral for Ronald Wayne "Ronnell" Carnell of Blytheville, Ark., will be held at 10 a.m. today at Cobb Funeral Chapel in Blytheville. The Revs. Jim Arnold and Mark Haston will officiate. Burial will be in Dogwood Cemetery at Blytheville.

Carnell, 47, died Monday, May 17, 1999, at Mid-South Regional Medical Center in Memphis, Tenn.

He was born in Blytheville, son of Julian and Audrey Alice Scott Carnell Jr. He and Tannus Neely were married in Blytheville.

Carnell was production manager at Huntco Steel. He was a former policeman and fireman at Blytheville. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War, and received two Purple Hearts.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Derrik Carnell of Osage City, Kan., Adam Binner of Blytheville; a daughter, Lacie Carnell of Osage City; his mother and stepfather, Audrey and Ken Garrett of Sikeston.

Also surviving are three brothers, Don Carnell of Blytheville, Randy Carnell of Jackson, Julian "Rick" Carnell III of Sikeston; four sisters, Wanda Houston of St. Charles, Mona Mitchem of Sikeston, Kathy Fausett of Jackson, and Cindy Raben of Fayetteville.

He was preceded in death by his father.
