WAPPAPELLO, Mo. -- Ronald Gene and Jewell Dean Griffin of Wappapello died in an automobile accident Sunday, Feb. 6, 2005, north of Wappapello. WAPPAPELLO, Mo. -- Ronald Gene and Jewell Dean Griffin of Wappapello died in an automobile accident Sunday, Feb. 6, 2005, north of Wappapello. Her daughter, Darlene King Constantine, also died in the accident.

Griffin, 64, was born Nov. 14, 1940, in Sikeston, Mo., son of John M. and Georgia P. Hagy Griffin. He and Jewell King were married March 25, 1972, at Bloomfield, Mo.

He was a truck driver. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church at Wappapello and Masonic Lodge 549 at Puxico, Mo.

Survivors include two sons, Mark Griffin of Advance, Mo., Vallie Griffin of Dexter, Mo.; two brothers, John and Dick Griffin of Morley, Mo.; four sisters, Betty Emerson and Marsha Centanni of Morley, Sandy Abner of Bell City, Mo., Jane Rogers of Bloomfield; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mrs. Griffin, 69, was born Feb. 17, 1936, in Sikeston, daughter of Robert A. and Lena M. James Burns. She first married Lendell Edward King in 1954. He died Sept. 26, 1969.

She was a member of Faith Baptist Church and Eastern Star in Puxico.

Survivors include two sons, Dean King of Buford, Ga., Dwayne King of Sherman, Texas; and three grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and a sister.

Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston from 5 to 8 p.m. today.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the chapel, with the Rev. Bruce Pittman officiating. Burial will be in Essex Cemetery at Essex, Mo.
