Rollie Craft, 87, of Jackson died Wednesday, June 23, 2004, at Monticello House. He was born Dec. 28, 1916, at Neelys Landing, son of Charlie and Katie Clingingsmith Craft. He and Margie Myer were married Nov. 1, 1946. Craft was a construction worker in the Cape Girardeau area, and also worked at the former Track-side gas station in Jackson and the former Westlake Quarry near Neelys Landing, retiring in 1974. Rollie Craft, 87, of Jackson died Wednesday, June 23, 2004, at Monticello House.

He was born Dec. 28, 1916, at Neelys Landing, son of Charlie and Katie Clingingsmith Craft. He and Margie Myer were married Nov. 1, 1946.

Craft was a construction worker in the Cape Girardeau area, and also worked at the former Track-side gas station in Jackson and the former Westlake Quarry near Neelys Landing, retiring in 1974. He was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church near Pocahontas.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Jerry Craft of St. Peters, Mo.; two daughters, Charlotte Eddleman of Jackson, Norma Jean Monahan of Thebes, Ill.; a stepsister, Amie Holifield of Festus, Mo.; three grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, a brother and a sister.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. John Rhodes officiating. Burial will be in New Bethel Cemetery.
