Roger Allen Schlimme, 55, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2003, at St. Francis Medical Center.
He was born Aug. 16, 1948, in Cape Girardeau, son of Lloyd and Frieda Cobb Schlimme.
Mr. Schlimme grew up in Cape Girardeau and was a graduate of Central High School and Southeast Missouri State University.
He worked in the produce department at Wal-Mart in Perryville, Mo., three years; was manager of Save-A-Lot in Cape Girar-deau 15 years; and prior to that owned a grocery store in Brownsville, Tenn., eight years.
Mr. Schlimme was a member of Hobbs Chapel United Methodist Church, Scottish Rite Valley of St. Louis, Calvary Shrine of Jerusalem 8, member and past master of St. Mark's Lodge 93.
He was a member of the following Masonic lodges: Harold Grauel 672; Westview 103 at Millersville; Saline 226 at St. Mary, Mo. and current master; Trowel 440 and past master; Zalma 545; Chaffee 615; Whitewater 417; and Olive Branch and Anna, Ill., lodges.
Mr. Schlimme was a member and past high priest of Wilson Chapter York Rite, past illustrious master of Cape Council 20, Cape Commandry 55, Amaranth Court 14, St. Mark Order of Eastern Star 167, and area grand high priest of Area 6.
Survivors include his father of Cape Girardeau; three brothers, John (Connie) Schlimme of Raleigh, N.C., Kenneth Schlimme of Cape Girardeau, Michael Schlimme of Charlotte, N.C.; a sister, Mary (Craig) Petzoldt of Jackson; nieces and nephews, Niki, Curtis, Amanda, Daniel, Luke, Whitney Schlimme; Michelle and Kristen Kelly; Kayla Petzoldt; and a great-niece, McKenzie Shearon.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home from 3 to 8 p.m. today, and Friday at Hobbs Chapel from 10 a.m. until time of service. A masonic service will be held at 8 p.m. today.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the church, with the Rev. Craig Petzoldt officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
