THEBES, Ill. -- Roger Lee Price Sr., 63, of Marion, Ill., died Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2004, at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion.
He was born Feb. 21, 1941, in Pulaski, Ill., son of Orville Otis Mize and Frieda Parmley. He married Carole Bishop, who died Nov. 10, 2002.
Price was formerly of Thebes, Ill. He was a former manager of Illinois State Employment Office in Cairo, Ill., and was a furniture salesman with K's Merchandise in Cape Girardeau.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps.
Survivors include two sons, Roger Price Jr. of Marion, Jay Nanny of St. Charles, Mo.; four daughters, Rachel Price of Olive Branch, Ill., Renee Price of Marion, Melissa Compau of Detroit, Mich., Irene Holth of Maryland; and his mother, Frieda Christian of Metropolis, Ill.
Also surviving are three brothers, Steven Stern of New Baden, Ill., Nelson Stern of Barlow, Ky., Tom Mize of Niles, Mich.; four sisters, Sandra Ashcraft of Barlow, Crystal Nance of Champaign, Ill., Tina Mize of Niles, Kelly Pettigrew of Metropolis; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Friends may call at Jones Funeral Home in Tamms, Ill., from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with Dr. Larry Potts officiating. Burial will be in Beechwood Cemetery at Mounds, Ill.
