MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Roger Dale Davault, 58, of Marble Hill died Sunday, May 27, 2018, at his home.
Born April 27, 1960, in Cape Girardeau, he was the son of Dale William and Mary Ruth Williams Davault. He and Tamara Lynne Fetterhoff married June 28, 1986, at New Salem Baptist Church. She survives.
Roger was a graduate of Woodland High School and attended Southeast Missouri State University. He found his professional calling in sales and marketing. For many years, he worked with Old American Insurance Co. of Kansas City. He later joined National Western Life Insurance, where he achieved the position of national marketing director for final expenses. He had many fond memories of his business sponsorship of a nationally recognized Davault softball team.
He served Bollinger County as a reserve deputy sheriff and actively worked with the Southeast Missouri Law Enforcement Academy as a firearm instructor. Roger opened Midwest Sports and Specialty Advertising as a local gun shop, sporting clay's range and screen print shop.
Roger was dedicated to his wife and family and worked with his wife, Tammy, at the screen print shop up until his death. He was a lifelong member of New Salem Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and chairman of deacons. He was active on the family farm in 4-D Cattle Co. He especially loved the people of Bollinger County and truly enjoyed church, family, friends and business associates.
He is survived by his wife of almost 32 years, Tammy L. Davault; his father and stepmother, Dale and Peggy Davault; a brother, Rodney (Chris) Davault; two stepbrothers, Ryan (Stephanie) Goddard and Matt (Jill) Goddard; father- and mother-in-law, Bill and Carol Fetterhoff; brother-in-law, Scott (Tracy) Fetterhoff; two sisters-in-law, Cindy (Mike) Hayes and Mary Catherine (Joel Hoffman) Fetterhoff; nephews John (Kattie) Davault, Joe (Sarah) Davault and Josh Davault, and Evan, Riley, Jarrett, Hudson, Bo, Carter and Daniel; and nieces Sarah, Olivia, Emma, Bella and Hadlie.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Ruth Davault.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at New Salem Baptist Church, north of Marble Hill.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the church.
