BLOOMFIELD -- Funeral services will be held today for Roger Dale Owens, 47, of Bloomfield, Mo. A former resident of East Prairie and St. Louis, he died Tuesday, Aug. 20, 1991 at his residence.
Services will begin at 2 p.m. at the Shelby Funeral Chapel in East Prairie. The Rev. Don Thompson, pastor of the First Assembly of God Church of East Prairie, will officiate. Burial will follow in the East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.
He was born March 25, 1944 at Cairo, Ill. to the late Arthur and Erma Wamble Owens.
He was a hair stylist, and was employed by the Concord Plaza Barber Shop and Hairstyling Salon in St. Louis, where he had lived for the past 10 years.
Survivors include: two brothers, Archie Owens of Sikeston and Jackie Owens of Ft. Knox, Ky.; three sisters, Vivian Christian and Pat Sandefur, both of Dexter, and Shirley Brown of Bloomfield; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
