VILLA RIDGE, Ill. -- Roger E. Conant, 75, of Villa Ridge died Sunday, Feb. 29, 2004, at Daystar Care Center in Cairo, Ill.
He was born Aug. 5, 1928, in Tamms, Ill., son of Edward and Louise Parker Conant. He and Birdie Douglas were married Nov. 25, 1948.
Conant was a member of Christian Community Ministry, United Transportation Union, Cairo Masonic Lodge 237 AF&AM, Cairo Commandery and York Rite, Ainad Shrine Temple, Illinois Farmers Union, and life member of KIM Shrine Club.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Linda Davis of Jonesboro, Ill.; a son, Gordon Conant of Villa Ridge; a brother, John Conant of Flat Rock, N.C.; four grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
Friends may call at Crain Funeral Home in Ullin, Ill., from 5 to 8 p.m. today. Masonic rites by Lodge 237 will be conducted at 7.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Ralph Kaufman officiating. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens.
