He was born Feb. 8, 1957, in Perryville, survived by his father, Chalmer D. Blandford of Perryville, and preceded by his mother, Norma J. (Esselman) Blandford. PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Roger P. Blandford, 58, of Perryville died Dec. 15, 2015, at Independence Care Center of Perry County, Missouri.

He was born Feb. 8, 1957, in Perryville, survived by his father, Chalmer D. Blandford of Perryville, and preceded by his mother, Norma J. (Esselman) Blandford. He married Mary Ann DuBois on Sept. 3, 1977. She survives in Perryville.

Roger worked in the service department at TG USA. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and a longtime employee at Northdale IGA.

Survivors include one son, Jason Blandford (Alison Bollinger) of Perryville; one brother, Larry (Julia) Blandford of Perryville; and one sister, Penny (Scott) Williams of Cape Girardeau.

He was preceded in death by his mother and one infant son, Matthew.

Visitation will be from 3:30 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Young and Sons Funeral Home, with a Catholic Wake at 3:30 p.m. Visitation will continue from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. Monday, with rosary at 9 a.m.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, with the Rev. Milton Ryan and Deacon Tom Schumer officiating.

Entombment will be in Mary Queen of Heaven Mausoleum.

Memorials are preferred for St. Jude's Children's Hospital or St. Vincent de Paul Parish, School or Church.
