SIKESTON, Mo. -- Rochester Armstrong, 66, of Sikeston died Saturday, Sept. 4, 2004, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.
Armstrong was born March 11, 1938, in rural Charleston, Mo., son of Rufus and Jessie Coleman Armstrong.
Survivors include his wife, Annie Orr Armstrong of Sikeston; nine sons, Richard Lawrence, Freddie Davis, Roy C. Armstrong, Ray C. Armstrong, all of Toledo, Ohio, James Clark of Indianapolis, Ind., Jerome Davis of Decatur, Ill., James Davis of Charleston, Kelvin Goodwin of Milwaukee, Wis., Michael Goodwin of Clarksville, Tenn.; four daughters, Christine Cavanaugh and Georgia Bolton of Toledo, Angela Dossie of Cairo, Ill., Miranda Goodwin of Charleston; two brothers, Perry Bailey of Indianapolis, Milan Armstrong of Minneapolis; four sisters, Lizzie Mae McCain of Mount Vernon, Ill., Vera Mae Washington and Julia Tate of Charleston, Charlene Reed of Wilson City, Mo.; 45 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at 1 p.m. Saturday at Ollie Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Wilson City.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the church, with the Rev. Melvin Williams officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove cemetery near Charleston.
