BELL CITY -- Roby P. Barks, 97, of Bell City died Sunday, Nov. 2, 1997, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. He was born Aug. 26, 1900, near Advance, son of A.J. "Doc" and Nettie Bollinger Barks. He and Ruby McFerron were married Aug. 11, 1927, in Newport, Ark. She died Aug. 13, 1991...

BELL CITY -- Roby P. Barks, 97, of Bell City died Sunday, Nov. 2, 1997, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Aug. 26, 1900, near Advance, son of A.J. "Doc" and Nettie Bollinger Barks. He and Ruby McFerron were married Aug. 11, 1927, in Newport, Ark. She died Aug. 13, 1991.

Barks was a bookkeeper at Rogers Motor Co. in Dalton, Ga., 36 years. He was a member of Bell City United Methodist Church and Bell City Masonic Lodge 489 AF&AM.

Survivors include nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance from 6-8:30 p.m. today. A Masonic service will be held at 7:30.

Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Dan Richardson and Frank Husted officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Bell City.
