Roberta Skaggs

CAIRO, Ill. -- Roberta Skaggs, 65, of Cairo, formerly of Thebes, Ill., died Tuesday, June 19, 2012, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Sept. 11, 1946, in Cairo, to Clyde and Ida Mae Peters Dunn Jr. She and Thurman L. Skaggs Jr. were married in 1968 in Arizona.

Roberta was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Cape Girardeau. She was a graduate of Thebes High School.

Survivors include a son, Bryan Skaggs (Debra) of Thebes; two daughters, Traci Palmer and Stacy Kennedy of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, Dennis Dunn (Sarah) of Collinsville, Ill., Rodney L. Dunn (Jo Ann) of Jackson; a sister, Linda K. Culkin (Robert) of Olive Branch, Ill.; six grandchildren, Morgan Crites, Roberta Miller, John Kennedy, Thomas Kennedy, Lynda May, Jessica May; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Pat and Mike Dunn.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Loren Boettcher officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery at Thebes.
