Robert Wright

Robert Don Wright, 70, passed away Sunday, Sept. 24, 2023, surrounded by the love of his wife, Judy Wright, and daughters, Robin Wright Albarran (Dave Albarran) and Rachel Sheets (Mike Sheets).

Robert's life was a testament to his strong faith and unwavering commitment to both his family and his calling. He earned his Master of Divinity in New Orleans and dedicated more than 51 years to pastoral ministry, shepherding souls with the love of Jesus.

He enjoyed travel, history, fishing, hunting and the culinary arts. In the kitchen, he loved to prepare delicious meals while sharing funny stories, making every gathering a cherished memory.

Robert's brilliance as a historian and theologian enriched the lives of those around him. His gentle and kind spirit brought peace to even the most challenging situations. He was fun-loving, effortlessly making friends and earning the trust and admiration of all.

He is survived by his adored grandchildren, Easton Sheets, Kingston Albarran, Beckett Sheets, Vivienne Albarran and Jagger Albarran. He is also survived by his sister, Sheila Stevens.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Robert C. and Dorothy Harris Wright, and infant sister, Grace Alice Wright.

A celebration of Robert's life will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, at Shawnee Park Center in Cape Girardeau. All whose lives were touched by Robert are invited to attend the celebration honoring his memory.
