CAIRO, Ill. -- Robert W. Blackburn, 75, of West Paducah, Ky., died Friday, Jan. 1, 1999, at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah.
He was born Oct. 4, 1923, at Cairo, son of Carl and Augusta Haley Blackburn.
He was a machinist for Martin-Marietta for 30 years. He was of the Baptist faith and was a member of the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels, and the Cairo Masonic Lodge 237 AF&AM. He was a ham radio operator.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy M. Blackburn of West Paducah; a son, Kim Robert Blackburn of Lexington, Ky.; a daughter, Diana B. Elliott, St. Louis; a brother, Bill Blackburn, and a sister, Geneva Holland, both of Cairo; and six grandchildren.
Service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo, with the Rev. Larry Davidson officiating. Interment will be in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens at Villa Ridge.
Friends may call from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
