Robert R. Snider, 86, of Cape Girardeau passed away Friday, March 29, 2019, at the Chateau Girardeau Health Center. He was born Dec. 31, 1932, in Cape Girardeau to the late Ben W. and Flora A. Cox Snider. Robert was a 1951 graduate of Morley (Missouri) High School and served his country in the Air Force during the Korean War. He and Doris J. Robert R. Snider, 86, of Cape Girardeau passed away Friday, March 29, 2019, at the Chateau Girardeau Health Center.

He was born Dec. 31, 1932, in Cape Girardeau to the late Ben W. and Flora A. Cox Snider. Robert was a 1951 graduate of Morley (Missouri) High School and served his country in the Air Force during the Korean War. He and Doris J. Robinson were married Jan. 25, 1957, in Cape Girardeau.

Robert worked for Ozark Gas for 15 years and Commercial Transport Co. for 25 years, retiring in 1992. He was a Life Member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3838. His father, Ben, was a charter member of VFW Post 3838.

Loving survivors include his wife of 62 years, Doris J. Snider of Cape Girardeau; daughters, Tina (Mark) Metje-Mason of Oran, Missouri, and Dara Kay Snider (Ty Blattner) of Cape Girardeau; sister, N. Carolyn Seabaugh of Cape Girardeau; granddaughter, Ashley "Brooke" Metje of Cape Girardeau; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, L.B., Shelton "Bub" and Billy Snider; and five sisters, Margaret "Sis" Bowell, Helen Lipe, Betty Anderson, Barbara Snider and Marilyn Snider.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Zack Strong officiating. Burial will follow at Cape County Memorial Park Cemetery, with full military honors provided by Missouri Honor Guard and VFW Post 3838.

Memorial contributions may be given to VFW Post 3838.
