Robert Ray Seabaugh, 74, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, April 9, 2007, at the Lutheran Home.

He was born Aug. 25, 1932, in Cape Girardeau, son of Adam Ray and Virginia Stoops Seabaugh. He and Carolyn Frances Cochran were married Dec. 7, 1989, in McKinney, Texas.

Seabaugh was a graduate of College High School, and attended Southeast Missouri State University.

He served in the U.S. Air Force from Feb. 15, 1951, to Feb. 28, 1971. He also served in the Korean conflict and Vietnam War. He retired as a master sergeant.

Seabaugh then worked in the retail clothing business in the Houston, Texas, area. He later was a truck driver from 1988 until he retired in 2006.

Seabaugh was an active leader in Boy Scouts of America. He was a member of American Legion, 32nd Degree member of Scottish Rite of Free Masonry, Grandparents Support Group, and First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Robert (Starla) Seabaugh Jr. of Plano, Texas; a stepson, Richard (Christine) Cochran Jr. of Campbell, Mo.; a daughter, Janice (Dan) Johnson of Corsicana, Texas; and a stepdaughter, Lisa (Charles) Wilson of Cape Girardeau.

Also three brothers, David (Sandy) Lohmann of Wake Forest, N.C., Thomas (Nina) Seabaugh of Jonesboro, Ark., Adam (Pamela) Seabaugh of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Cindy Underwood of Scott City; nine grandchildren, Austin Wilson; Kailee, Nigelle, Jordan and Taylor Cochran; Mandy, Caitlin, Jennifer and Danielle Seabaugh; and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Phillip Lohmann.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Mike Shupert officiating. Burial will be at 1 p.m. in Missouri State Veterans Cemetery at Bloomfield with military rites by Missouri Honors Team.

Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association or American Heart Association.
