ROBERT PENNINGTON

SIKESTON -- Robert Lee Pennington, 64, of Sikeston died Thursday, Sept. 3, 1998, at John J. Pershing VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff.

He was born Feb. 12, 1934, at Gray Ridge, son of Adron and Maggie Jewell McDonnaughhay Pennington.

Pennington retired as a technical sergeant with the U.S. Air Force, and was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars.

He was a member of Henry Meldrum American Legion Post, VFW Post and Eagles Aerie, all in Sikeston.

Survivors include a son, Robert "Bobby" Pennington of Sikeston; a daughter, Elishia Baker of Sikeston; a stepson, Barry Grissom of Sikeston; a stepdaughter, Cyndi Barksdale of Scott City; a brother, Raymond Pennington of Virginia Beach, Va.; a sister, Loetta Chafin of Gray Ridge; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister.

Friends may call at Blanchard Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. today.

Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Chalk Bluff Cemetery, with the Rev. Henry Jordan officiating. Full military rites will be conducted by an honor guard from Scott Air Force Base.
