Robert F. "Bob" Nenninger, 71, of Glen Carbon, Illinois, formerly of Cape Girardeau, passed away Saturday, June 28, 2014, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, Illinois. Robert F. "Bob" Nenninger, 71, of Glen Carbon, Illinois, formerly of Cape Girardeau, passed away Saturday, June 28, 2014, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, Illinois.

He was born April 9, 1943, in Cape Girardeau, son of Charles F. and Bernadine Fox Nenninger. He married Jean Heim Nenninger on June 19, 1987, in Edwardsville, Illinois.

Bob was a graduate of St. Mary Grade School and Notre Dame High School. He retired as a service manager in the carwash industry after many years of dedicated service.

He proudly served his country with the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars. He enjoyed nature, feeding his birds and his days of cooking. He will be remembered for the love and special times shared with his family and friends.

In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by four stepchildren, Kevin Reynolds of Maplewood, Missouri, Tammy Davison of St. Louis, Scott Reynolds and wife Louise of Glen Carbon and Barry Reynolds of Highland, Illinois; seven stepgrandchildren; four great-stepgrandchildren; four brothers, James Nenninger of California, Richard Nenninger of Cape Girardeau, Chuck (Debbie) Nenninger of Cape Girardeau and Chris Nenninger of Marquand, Missouri; a sister, Sr. Richarda Nenninger of St. Louis; other extended family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Charlotte Nenninger and Sr. Catherine Nenninger; and a nephew, Chip Nenninger.

The funeral was July 3 at Irwin Chapel in Glen Carbon. Burial with full military honors was in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis.
