Robert Nally

Robert Ray "Bob" Nally, 70, of Wyatt, Mo., died Thursday, Jan. 15, 2009, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Jun 11, 1938, at State Park Place, Ill., son of William Robert and Doris Nell Campbell Nally. He and Marilyn Johnson were married Aug. 9, 1959.

Nally was ship's master on the Mississippi River, ending his career with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. He worked as a deckhand, oiler engineer and pilot during his career and was also a port captain and company manager for river marine companies. He was a deacon of the Wyatt Baptist Church. He was a member of the Retired Marine Personnel Association and a former member of the Missouri National Guard.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Karen Seabaugh of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, Lowell Nally of Wyatt, Charles Nally of Monticello, Ark.; a sister, Carol Butler of Charleston, Mo.; and a grandson.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston, Mo.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, with the Rev. Dean Wallace officiating. Burial will be in the IOOF Cemetery.
