Robert Naeter

A memorial service for Robert E. "Bob" Naeter of Franklin, Tenn., was held Tuesday at Christ Episcopal Church in Cape Girardeau. The Rev. Robert Towner officiated.

A second service was held Tuesday at Williamson Memorial Funeral Home in Franklin, with Gary Fewell officiating.

Bob, 64, died Saturday, Aug. 30, 2003, at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, Tenn.

He was born Aug. 12, 1939, in Cape Girardeau, son of Harry A. and Grada "Babe" Naeter. He was a 1957 graduate of Central High School, and attended Southeast Missouri State University. He served in the U.S. Air Force.

Bob worked at the Southeast Missourian Newspaper and Missourian Office Supply. He also had the A.B. Dick Business Machine franchise. He was currently a self-employed accountant.

He was a member of Kiwanis Club, Elks Club, and former member of Christ Episcopal Church, all in Cape Girardeau.

He and Tessa Eubanks were married in 1987.

Survivors include his mother of Cape Girardeau; a son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Andlle Naeter of Cape Girardeau; two daughters and a son-in-law, Christina Tanksley-Onnybecker and George Onnybecker of Benton, Ky., Denise Hutchison of Ridgeville, S.C.; two brothers and sisters-in-law, George and Doris Naeter of Plano, Texas, Fred and Nancy Naeter of Cape Girardeau; a sister and brother-in-law, Diane and Ken Bryan of Cape Girardeau; a sister-in-law, Debbie Baker Naeter of Cape Girardeau; three granddaughters, Courtney Tanksley of Benton, Ky., Emery and Bentley Naeter of Cape Girardeau; nine nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and nephews.

Also surviving is his wife; a stepson, Jason Eubanks of Thompson Station, Tenn.; two stepdaughters, Jennifer Schroeder and Suzanne Sylvester of Franklin; and five stepgrandchildren, including Haley Chase of the home.

He was preceded in death by his father; and two brothers, Harry A. Naeter III and Chris Naeter.
