ADVANCE, Mo. -- Robert Earl Morris, son of the late Earl Barnett Morris and Ruby Healy Morris James, was born Jan. 11, 1945, in Zanesville, Ohio, and departed this life Sunday, Sept. 6, 2020, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau at the age of 75.
Robert was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a farmer and the former owner of Morris Motors in Sikeston, Missouri. He was serving as a Pike Township Board member. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish.
On Oct. 22, 1966, he was united in marriage to Gloria Beachum in Dexter. She survives of their home near Advance, Missouri.
Besides his wife, Gloria, he is survived by daughters, Robin Morris of Benton, Missouri, and Monti (Ladd) Callow of Cape Girardeau; sisters, Earlene Watkins of Oakland, Kentucky, and Jeanie French of Dexter; and three grandchildren, Bryant Morris, Austin Cooper and Izayah Gordon.
A graveside service with full military honors will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, with the Rev. Mike Lee officiating.
