ROBERT MCMAHAN

WOLF LAKE, Ill. -- Robert E. "Sarge" McMahan, 63, of Wolf Lake died Thursday, Nov. 28, 1996, at his home.

He was born July 15, 1933, at Wolf Lake, son of Lawrence D. and Minnie Foster McMahan. He and Della L. Koch were married Aug. 3, 1957, in Anna.

McMahan was a life member of Carroll P. Foster VFW Post 3455 in Anna; former member of Shawnee High School Board of Education and the Union County Housing Authority. He was a veteran of the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Beth McMahan of Wolf Lake; four sons, Cliff, David, Shawn and Luke McMahan, all of Wolf Lake; two sisters, Freda Miller of Wolf Lake, Jane Hemby of Anna; and 10 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.

Friends may call at Wolf Lake United Methodist Church from 5-8 p.m. today, and Sunday until service time.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at the church, with the Rev. John Prather officiating. Burial will be on the McMahan family farm, with military rites by VFW Post 3455.
