CAIRO, Ill. -- Robert E. McChristian, 87, of Cairo died Wednesday, May 23, 2001, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau. He was born Aug. 25, 1913, in McCracken County, Ky., son of Charles and Emma Moss McChristian. McChristian retired as a machine operator with Coca-Cola Bottling Co. CAIRO, Ill. -- Robert E. McChristian, 87, of Cairo died Wednesday, May 23, 2001, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born Aug. 25, 1913, in McCracken County, Ky., son of Charles and Emma Moss McChristian.

McChristian retired as a machine operator with Coca-Cola Bottling Co. He was a member of First Christian Church.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy McChristian of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Cairo; three daughters, Mary Bumpus of Wadesville, Ind., Meredith Wagner and Betty Keirce Brockett of Cape Girardeau; a son, Robert McChristian of Marion, Ill.; a sister, Mary Smith of Detroit, Mich.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

There is no visitation.

Private graveside service will be held Saturday at Green Lawn Memorial Gardens in Villa Ridge, Ill. The Rev. Richard Pigg will officiate.

Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo is in charge of arrangements.
