MOREHOUSE, Mo. -- Robert L. Mathis, 68, of Morehouse died Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2000, at his home. He was born June 14, 1932, in Sikeston, Mo., son of Leo Erby and Mary Bessie Myers Mathis. He and Marilyn Bailey were married Feb. 28, 1981. Mathis was a self-employed painter...

MOREHOUSE, Mo. -- Robert L. Mathis, 68, of Morehouse died Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2000, at his home.

He was born June 14, 1932, in Sikeston, Mo., son of Leo Erby and Mary Bessie Myers Mathis. He and Marilyn Bailey were married Feb. 28, 1981.

Mathis was a self-employed painter.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Mark Mathis of Charleston, Mo., Steven Wheetley of Crocker, Mo.; a daughter, Mary Mathis of the home; a brother, Vernon Mathis of Dexter, Mo.; a sister, Betty Feldewerth of Wentzville, Mo.; and four grandchildren.

Friends may call at Ponder Funeral Home in Sikeston from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
