Robert L. "Bob" Mabery, 86, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2013, at his home.
He was born Oct. 13, 1927, at Bonne Terre, Mo., to Leo and Edna Poston Mabery. He and Marylin Nelson were married April 20, 1952, at Bonne Terre.
Bob served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He was a supervisor with Southwestern Bell Telephone more than 36 years.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Marylin Mabery of Cape Girardeau; three sons, Phillip Mabery, Michael Mabery and wife Gina of Park Hills, Mo., and John Mabery and wife Nancy of Jerseyville, Ill.; two daughters, Mary Mabery-Warren of Marquand, Mo., and Jennifer Singleton and husband Phillip of Jackson; two sisters, Janet Lemon of California and Sheila Blackwell of Farmington, Mo.; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
A private memorial service will be at a later date.
Ford and Sons Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
