Robert W. "Bobby" Lamb, 67, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2011, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
He was born Feb. 29, 1944, in Cape Girardeau, to Roscoe and Alice Furlong Lamb.
Bobby worked as a bricklayer and was a member of Local 23 Bricklayers for 30 years, where he served as the business agent 28 years. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
He was so many things -- an intelligent, kind, compassionate, funny dad; brother, grandpa, driver. He was a builder of race cars, a scuba diver, sailor, photographer and master griller of dad burgers. He was a forever teacher and giver of unconditional love.
Survivors include a daughter, Robin Boyer of Cape Girardeau; a son, Michael Lamb of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Anna Jean Simmons of Cape Girardeau, Lila Sue Deickinson of Pilot Knob, Mo.; six grandchildren; a great-grandchild; 20 nieces and nephews; and lifelong friends he considered his family.
He was preceded in death by his loving parents.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home.
The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Donny Ford officiating.
