PERRYVILLE -- Robert L. Rushing, 67, of Perryville, died Tuesday, May 11, 1993, at the John Cochran Veterans Hospital in St. Louis.
He was born April 4, 1926, at East St. Louis, Ill., son of Benjamin and Flossie Estella Hancock Rushing.
He was married to Leta V. DeClue, July 2, 1977.
Rushing worked as a security officer for Heartland Security in Cape Girardeau. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Marine Corps.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Perryville. He was also a member of VFW Post 4282, American Legion Post 133, AmVets Post 94, all of Perryville.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Vickie Rushing of Byron Center, Mich., JoAnne Benthusen of Earlington Heights, Ill.; two step-sons, Randy DeClue of Perryville, Keith Middleton of Thornton, Colo.; four step-daughters, Vicky Middleton and Lisa Middleton, both of Perryville, Dana Brandon of Webb City, Mo., Sheila Crum of Gerald, Mo.; three brothers, Harold Rushing of Belleville, Ill., Charles Rushing of Gaithersburg, Md., William Rushing of Hannibal, Mo.; a sister, Helen Keeler of Redding, Calif.; five grandchildren; 11 step-grandchildren; a great-grandson and a step-great-granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call from 4-9 p.m. Thursday and after 6:30 a.m. Friday, at Young and Sons Funeral Chapel in Perryville. There will be a VFW wake service at 7 p.m. Thursday.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Young and Sons Funeral Chapel in Perryville, with the Rev. Tom McCanless officiating.
Burial will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis.
