Robert "Bob" A. Kasten, 54, of Cape Girardeau passed away Friday, Aug. 12, 2005, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau. He was born June 25, 1951, in Perryville, Mo., son of Oscar P. and Linda Rowold. He and Brenda Bryant were married June 8, 1974, in Cape Girardeau...

Robert "Bob" A. Kasten, 54, of Cape Girardeau passed away Friday, Aug. 12, 2005, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born June 25, 1951, in Perryville, Mo., son of Oscar P. and Linda Rowold. He and Brenda Bryant were married June 8, 1974, in Cape Girardeau.

Bob attended Uniontown Lutheran Grade School, and graduated from Perryville High School in 1969. He received a bachelor of science degree in education in 1973, majoring in math and physics, and also received an associates degree in nursing in 1996 from Southeast Missouri State University.

He worked 15 years for the former Sander's True Value in Cape Girardeau, and 15 years at Southeast Missouri Hospital, the last 10 as a registered nurse. Bob was of the Christian faith.

Survivors include his loving wife, Brenda, of 31 years; son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Angie Kasten of Cape Girardeau; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Clyde and Charlotte Kasten of Jackson, Edwin and Jean Kasten of St. Louis, Merlin and Ruby Kasten of Perryville; a sister, Ella Braska of St. Louis; his mother-in-law, Lila Bryant of Cape Girardeau; and two sisters-in-law, Debbie Weaver of Kenner, La., and Vicki Wilson of Jefferson City, Mo.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.

Friends may call today, Aug. 14, from 4 to 8 p.m. at McCombs Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

Funeral will be Monday, Aug. 15, at 2 p.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Michael Woelk officiating.

Interment will follow in Lorimier Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
