ESSEX -- Robert Joseph Adams, 59, died Thursday, Dec. 29, 1994, at the Martin Hills Retirement Village in Essex.

He was born Sept. 20, 1935, in Fornfelt, son of Ulen Ester and Mamie Josephine Ebbs Adams.

He married Linda Carol Williams in 1953. She died in March 29, 1960.

He was a caretaker for the Martin Hills Retirement Village. He was a member of Eisleben Lutheran Church in Scott City.

Survivors are a son, Roger Adams, Jackson; two brothers, Ronald Adams, Scott City, and Ray Adams, Nashville, Tenn.; a sister, Beverly Webb, Cape Girardeau; and a grandson.

Graveside services will be today at 1 p.m. at Lightner Cemetery in Scott City with the Rev. William Dickey officiating. Amick-Burnett Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
