CHAFFEE, Mo. -- Robert Gaines "Joe Bob" Cobb Jr., 68, of Chaffee passed away Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2015, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
He was born Jan. 10, 1947, in Chaffee to R.G. and Annie Lee Smith Cobb Sr. He married Mayme Horrell on Nov. 12, 1966, and she survives.
Joe Bob was a retired operating line tech at Procter & Gamble in Jackson. He was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Chaffee, St. Ambrose Men's Club and Chaffee Elks Lodge No. 1810.
Survivors include his wife, Mayme, of the home; his mother, Annie Lee Cobb of Chaffee; one son, Billy Cobb of Slidell, Louisiana; three brothers, Harold (Mary) Cobb and Ricky (June) Cobb, both of Chaffee, and Jim Cobb of Cape Girardeau; four sisters, Dixie (Dewaine) Shaffer of Chaffee, Betty (Darryl) Maschmann of Cape Girardeau, Darla Chapman of Chaffee and Sally (Danny) Hahn of Oran, Missouri; four grandchildren, Breanna Spencer, Joey Cobb, Nichole Martens and Timmy Martens; a special adopted grandson, Aaron (Lizzy Beth) Pedersen; numerous loving nieces and nephews; and a loving puppy, Callie.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Catherine Lee Cobb; daddy, R.G. Cobb; brother, Mike Cobb; niece, Amanda Shaffer; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charlie and Bertha Horrell; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Lee and Clara Reinwald; niece, Karen Pulliam; and brother-in-law, Tom Glastetter.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. Friday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee. Parish prayers will be at 7 p.m.
Funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Chaffee, with the Rev. Randy Tochtrop as celebrant. Burial will be at St. Ambrose Catholic Cemetery in Chaffee.
