Funeral service for Robert J. Stiegemeyer, 215 Camellia, will be held at 11 a.m. today at St. Andrew Lutheran Church. The Rev. Louis Launhardt will officiate, with burial in Memorial Park.

Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Stiegemeyer, 72, died Saturday, Nov. 7, 1992, at St. Louis University Hospital.

He was born May 21, 1920, in St. Louis, son of Arthur and Anna Goebel Stiegemeyer. He and Nancy Hunter were married July 28, 1951, in Cape Girardeau.

In 1960, Stiegemeyer helped start Hahs-Stiegemeyer Insurance Agency, and continued in the insurance business with various agencies until retiring in January 1992.

He was a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church, where he served as president of the congregation two times, served as an elder and on numerous boards and committees.

Stiegemeyer was a member of Toastmasters Club, Optimist Club, Chamber of Commerce, numerous professional organizations, and served two terms on Cape Girardeau School Board. He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, J. Hunter Stiegemeyer of Raleigh, N.C., Christian Stiegemeyer of St. Louis, Larson Stiegemeyer of Chicago; a daughter, Susan Lewis of Raleigh; a sister, Mildred Erhart of St. Louis, and a granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by a brother.
